Welcome to Web Design
This course is an expansion of graphic design concepts merging traditional page design,
typography, and digital imagery into the concepts and practices of web design. This studio
course will cover the preparation of digital images, compositional dynamics, and sequencing
of images into a complete working web design. Students will work with current graphic and
digital imaging software and web authoring software.
- Demonstrate how to use effective visual design elements and principles in a complete
working web site.
- Understand and use the steps of the production process for client-based web-site design.
- Utilize graphic design hardware to create a web site.
- Demonstrate how visual hierarchy works to create flow throughout a web site from a home
page to subpages.
- Demonstrate how to test and optimization a web site before implementing.
- Demonstrate awareness of advanced design issue pertaining to web graphic design.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Web site design using current graphic and digital imaging
software and web authoring software.
