CIS-155 Intro to Video Game Testing (3 s.h.)
Exploration of the design, definition, and creation of computer software through the use of video and computer games. By using the video game model, students will learn the steps from initial idea to completed, fully-tested product. Students will develop ideas into working games using state-of-the-art graphical development tools. Once complete, projects will be tested for quality and correctness.
CIS-156 Testing Concepts (4 s.h.)
Prerequisite: ECOM-xxx Intro to Video Game Testing. Intro to Video Game Testing defines the steps involved in taking the basic idea for a video or computer game through the formal steps of definition and implementation. The course is meant to provide the overview of how testing is incorporated into video game production and development. Basics testing concepts will be introduced to the students. Students will develop their own a working video game. The students will then thoroughly test other students video games.
CIS-246 Intermediate Testing Concepts (4 s.h.)
Prerequisite: ISTS-xxx Testing Concepts. Instruction in manual testing, hardware testing, and cross-platform testing. Manual testing is and will always the corner stone to effective testing. Cross-platform testing includes learning techniques for ensuring software performance on more than one machine type. Test environments will include Windows/Mac/Linux computers and various video-gaming consoles.
CIS-275 Advanced Testing Concepts (3 s.h.)
Prerequisite: ISTS-xxx Intermediate Testing Concepts. Instruction in testing automation, capture playback testing, performance testing, regression testing and defect triggers.
CIS-276 Testing Cases (4 s.h.)
Prerequisite: ISTS-xxx Intermediate Testing Concepts. Working test cases for real local businesses, the students will put all of the pieces together and gain real-life experience before entering the workforce. This capstone class will feature visits with local business people and work on test plans and testing for actual software creators.
